MAnbernic has announced the RG406V, a new 4-inch gaming handheld that builds on last year's RG405V. According to early teasers, the RG406V features an improved display and is equipped with the same chipset as the RG556 and RG Cube, which should allow it to emulate PS2 games at up to 1.5x native resolution.

Despite having recently released the RG405V (currently $79.99 on Mechdiy), Anbernic is already moving forward with the RG406V, a direct successor to the RG405V. While the company has not yet provided full specifications, a detailed teaser video has revealed some key features.

The RG406V upgrades include

Display: A sharper IPS screen with a 720p resolution (960 x 720) across a 4-inch diagonal.

Performance:
Enhanced emulation capabilities, with the ability to run PS2 games at 1.5x native resolution.

Chipset: It is equipped with the same chipset used in the RG556 and RG Cube, offering strong performance. [Unisoc T820 processor, 6nm EUV 5G SOC chip, Octa-core 1*A76@2.7GHz+3*A76@2.3GHz+4*A55@2.1GHz]

The RG406V is expected to be released on September 25th. It will also feature RGB backlit joysticks and will be available in three color options, White, transparent black, grayish purple
