Recently, I received a delightful surprise--the Trimui Brick. This compact retro gaming console is not only aesthetically pleasing but also powerful, making it one of the most anticipated portable devices of the year.
Unboxing Experience
The moment I opened the box, I could feel the attention to detail from Trimui. The packaging is very high-end, reminiscent of premium audio equipment. Inside, you'll find the Trimui Brick console, spare bumpers and trigger buttons, a USB A to C cable, and a detailed manual. The interior packaging is neat and includes a manual and two sets of replaceable shoulder buttons. Mad also sells transparent buttons and replaceable backplates separately, allowing users to customize their device.
Design and Build
The Trimui Brick features a simple yet elegant design, with a refined overall appearance. Available in black and white, I received the black version, but personally, I prefer the white one. The device has a 3.2-inch screen, which falls between the Miyoo Mini and Miyoo Mini Plus in size. Although the screen is smaller, the device feels very comfortable in hand and is easy to carry. The front design is similar to the previous Trim UI Smart Pro, with a simple layout of the D-pad and APXY buttons, and RGB lighting for a vibrant touch.
Features and Performance
The Trimui Brick supports multiple retro console emulations, including PS1 and DS games. It boasts a high-resolution screen and RGB lighting for excellent visual effects. While it lacks an analog stick, most games run smoothly. The control buttons are well-designed and responsive. The Trim UI Brick is equipped with a 3.2-inch 1024x768 display, running on the Crosmix system, with an Allwinner A133 P 1.8GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of storage. It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1, with stereo speakers at 1W and a 3000mAh battery, offering 4 to 5 hours of playtime.
User Experience
During use, I noticed the Trimui Brick gets slightly warm when running high-demand games, likely due to its metal backplate designed for heat dissipation. However, this does not affect the overall gaming experience. For players who enjoy portable devices, the Trimui Brick is an ideal choice. The bottom of the device includes a Micro SD card slot and a built-in R reset button, with a USB-C port and headphone jack. The top features a light strip, and the back panel includes R1, R2, L1, and L2 buttons, with lighting effects on the shoulder buttons.
Conclusion
Overall, the Trimui Brick is a beautifully designed and functional retro gaming console. Its design and features provide an excellent gaming experience, making it a highly recommended portable device. The Trim UI series frequently updates its operating system and offers strong support. Compared to the Miyoo Mini series, the Trimui Brick excels in design and display, making it a worthy alternative. If you're looking for a compact and powerful gaming console, the Trimui Brick will not disappoint. I hope this review is helpful to those interested.
